Girls Who Code Community Projects -- 1. Life with depression is the name of the game where you play as a character which would be a 13 year old who has depression. The objective of the game is to go though middle school and finding help.The game is choice-based, so the outcome (if you win or lose) is based on if you make the right choices. For example, you could go to your guidance counselor meeting and talk out your feelings,but you won’t be able to finish your homework and will get a bad grade. If you get a bad grade your parents yell at you, and it makes you feel worse. These realistic decisions can help people reevaluate their life choices and make better ones in the future about emotions and being mentally healthy. 2. Rebirth is an rpg-style video game in which the player explores a world that has been ruined by The Apocalypse. This is the Earth, mere years from now. The Apocalypse has been caused by none other than ourselves. Climate change has plunged the world into an overheating oil rig, and food is scarce. Play as a cat or dog, find food, get to the Land Of Hope, and recreate the world. A world of HOPE. 3.This year for my Girls Who Code project I am making a website to raise awareness on child abuse and domestic abuse.(Single mothers who are in an abusive relationship.) The website will include;
Warning signs that indicate if a woman/child is in an abusive relationship/family
How a family member (or loved one) can be manipulative (and why)
Resources so you can seek help.
Girls Who Code -- Instructional Projects -- 1. We are making a game that is will teach children good morals and not to judge others. The game is a puzzle, there are 5 dolls scattered around in the game. There are also creatures that will try to stop you from collecting the dolls. By answering the question you can collect the doll. If you collect 4 dolls you win and get an egg. Inside the egg, there is a doll. If you choose to pay 5 dollars, you can order the doll. If you collect 3 dolls, you get an egg with a pin if you pay 4 dollars for it. If you collect 2 dolls, you get an egg with a sticker in it if you pay 3 dollars. 2. Our project is a project in which we help kids. Elementary schoolers, to be quite specific. We have created the idea to develop a game software where 5th, 4th, and frankly any other grade, kids can play a simulation that can help them get a liking to how middle school, or BSMS, works. What it's like, how classes and schedules are, dilemmas and overall just a day of middle school. The game goes through 6th to 8th grade, of course. This year we hope to at least get a beta software of the game up and running. BSMS Tech Squad -- Our district has given each student a Chromebook for school use. This allows students to be able to work online at home and at school. Therefore we have created Tech Squad. Tech Squad is a group of students who are helping to troubleshoot students’ Chromebooks that are not functioning correctly. Update: District procedures have changed and we have decided not to continue this project this year.
